Right now I live in Bishopbriggs (near the toffs) [address removed] if you want to know.
My daughter and my son in law moved in with me with my 10 year old grand daughter .The house is a big 4 apartment semi detached and my daughter wouldnt let me live alone . Sometimes I wonder if i did the right thing .
Tommy

I remember we used to walk along the canal bank to go and see the posh houses in Bishopbriggs. My aunt moved there in the early sixties (Benvie Gardens). She got married in St Matthew's church in '66, and moved to Park Road where she lived until she passed away in the early 80s.

I was in Bishopbriggs earlier this month. I had lunch in an Italian restaurant in the High Street, opposite a big supermarket. I met up with some old school friends and before we knew it it was nearly six o'clock and people were arriving for their evening meal.

Hi, Tommy, yes, you are right, it was La Vita, and very nice it was too.

My sisters and I used to walk to Bishopbriggs every Saturday afternoon to visit my aunt and, if we were lucky, she would give us a lift back to Milton in her little Ford Prefect.

I am not familiar with the schools in the area at all as I went to school in Milton. My secondary school was knocked down a few years ago, unfortunately.

I used to go to Bishopbriggs Bowling Alley (Colston Road) in the sixties and, more recently, to a restaurant in a hotel (I think) there.

These boards are great, Tommy, aren't they, and certainly bring back a few memories.

Take care of yourself.

Dear GardenQueen

The bowling aley is long gone. never took off because they were refused a drinks license .
The hotel is the Lion Hotel .Every time I am in there it is for a funeral reception .including my mother and father ,God knows how many I have been to .
