"I understand that I'll never understand."

That masked protestor speaks for me also, and I wish her well and all those gathered around the world.

But is it worth risking many more lives to Covid-19?

I guess for some it is.

To all those from our black communities, for all the racism and injustice you have suffered, I'm not knowingly a racist, but I say sorry and I feel your pain. sign_sorry.gif

I agree (although I thought it was 40'000 and way too many at that).

I just like to keep it Scottish where I can, on here.

It was 40,000 `positive' related deaths but 50,000 covid deaths in total.
Even 40K would still place the UK, pro capita, as cup winners over all.

Although it is too early to celebrate defeat of the Virus, New Zealand is doing very well and hoping for the best. Statistics as at 6 June 2020 are:

Total confirmed and probable cases: 1,504
Number of deaths: 22
Number of active cases: 1 (not in hospital)

There have been no new cases now for 15 days. I hope my friends and family in the UK are keeping well and free of this awful virus. Love to all.

This has always been a great worry for those of us with family and loved ones in the UK where, it would seem, preventative measures are either not being met or taking too long to fuully implement. Two of my children and one grandchild are working as `care' persons going from home to home daily and although they are `masked uu' the homees which they visit, mostly, don't seem to see the need to take the necessary precautions.
In shops heere (Germany & France) there are black and yellow striped markings on the floor leading up to the cash registers with2meter/6'6" spacing and regular audio messages reminding customers to adhere to spacing with other customers.
4 weeks ago staff in supermarkets were issued with full-face visors in place of the surgical masks which could become uncomfortable during a fuull shift.

Fourth place, not even a medal.

Not for the want of trying, Trump's USA is actually mid-table from this data.

With over 50,000 deaths now recorded in the UK Britain has now, accoprding to my maths, overtaken the US as No.1 (pro capita) in the race to be world's best in ignorance and stupidity...
