Angel, although I don't always agree with your opinion I would like to praise
your use of the "enter" button.

im not being sarcastic, it is a very under used button on this forum and
makes quoting some people near impossible when the one line of text is
100 meters long.

all totally off topic of course but thumbup.gif

You know there are times when I wonder about my own sanity!

QUOTE (TeeHeeHee @ 30th Aug 2014, 10:51am) *
I've had that a few times from Russians over here too, including many other wrong guesses at my nationality but one German guy with whom I was speaking German did ask me which part of "Glesca" I came from: he worked at Glasgow Airport for 12 years and said if I'd been speakin' Mandarin he'd still have been able to spot ma Glesca Accent.
That left me real chuffed.
They always show surprize when told I have no say in the upcoming vote; regardless of the "Proud Scot" Saltire sticker on the back of my car. I tell them that if I hadn't been living here for the last quarter century and more I'd be a YES man at home. thumbup.gif

I was on occasion speaking Hebrew to some one I had just met. Another guy in the room raised his head up out of the book he was engrossed in and stared at me. Maze? (what) says me. And with a Scottish accent replied; "Hebrew wi a Glesga accent!!! never in my life have I heard that!

I also speak Mandarin and when taping my self for the purpose of feed back can still detect the "Glesga".

I was once taken for a when I was Uighur. (west Chinese Muslims where the trouble is now) by other Uighurs who invited me to accompany them on their journey home to the western provinces. This was in the 80s and I was on my way to visit Louyang and Shaolin temple.
