According to the TV one of Scotlands leading MP,s possibly Nicola as well, telling David Cameron to accept migrants into the country, which obviously means possibly a right few thousand for Scotland? what is posters thoughts on this, I think we should let them come, I mean what is 10000 in a land of milk and honey, it is merely a drop in the ocean.

I believe if you have humanity in heart you cannot turn your back on human beings in need no matter where they come from . who gave us the rights to watch children die when we could help them? these folk are living in fear because of our country and the usa. angry.gif

a friend posted this on facebook I think it says it all.
Our shame. Yes, our shame. Whilst we as a nation state defend our rights to waste another day toiling at the business of overconsumption to our hearts' ruination, whilst we as a nation state protect our liberties to run over this planet and pillage it minute by minute to feed the ravenous appetites of our endlessly gorging mouths and vacuous desires, whilst we empty the lands of rare metals to be converted by subjugated workers and impoverished families too poor to refuse to bend to the will of their masters in nations we openly mock and revile, here at home we sit in opulence of over-indulgence and protect ourselves from hordes of dying little ones like this once laughing and open eyed boy. And we dare to defend our 'civilisation'. We dare to be proud of our inhumanity to man? We dare to look any child in the face and say, we will protect you? When will we turn the corner and face ourselves in a mirror and recognise the twisted face of a nation state in decline and in danger of losing its whole purpose, that of peace and of fraternity? What has become of us? Where are we going now?

Try living in the East End.... you will soon see it is not the land of milk and honey for us even though our parents and gradparents fought for it to be. If the immigrants come then they will be forced to live in the poor areas of Glasgow and that means more poor people fighting for basic services and jobs and all the rest.

Its okay for clueless politicians to spout off when they feel like it about silly notions of bringing 000s more asylum seekers and refugees to Glasgow but do they ever consult us about what we want?? Do they provide more services and jobs?? NO!!

The whole immigration issue is being used by the upper classes to sow the seeds of hate and mistrust in our communities while those same upper classes take everything for themselves and give us nothing in return. Once the upper classes and the clueless politicians start giving then thats the time we should proudly welcome 000s more asylum seekers and migrants. Not one day before!! sad.gif

Of course the UK should take them in, Britain is one of the nations bombing the hell out of their countries.
Also who armed ISIS and the other groups?
Russia should also take them in as they are the ones who are supplying weapons to Assad.
What about the good old USA, they have said bugger all about taking them in, and they were the ones who started this mess.
Should have left Saddam Hussain alone, then they put their noses into Libya.
Now we have this idiot of a PM in Australia probably going to do the same.

As long as Westminster is pulling the strings this will always be the land of milk and honey to flam and his ilk.

It wont be 1000 though, there are millions who want to live in the 'West' and once the 1,000 arrive there will be another and another and so on. Where is the line drawn, at 10, 20, 30 or maybe 100,000 because that number is not unrealistic when you see the numbers flooding over the open borders of Europe. The more this happens then the more that will attempt the journey and the more deaths that will occur in the process.
Scotsmen also makes the point about where they'll put them, we already have a shortage of suitable social housing so are people already on the housing list to be told 'sorry but you're the wrong nationality'? What about the schools in the area, can they cope with xx kids who dont speak english being dumped in a classroom, i would say no..
Something has to be done but that something is not allowing illegal migrants to wander around Europe. The countries who are at the frontline cant cope so they should get the funds from other EU members to deal with it. We have a foreign aid budget numbering in the £billions, divert a % of that to help those countries set up camps to house, clothe and feed the people until the world sits down and sorts out ISIS. They're getting arms and backing from somewhere so the world/UN finds out who and deals with them, no VETOS, no dodgy deals`it gets sorted once and for all.

Letting them in should be part of the solution. It would teach us how to be a caring society once again.

Then, once their countries are safe to return to, they leave with our blessing and in mutual gratitude.

A lesson in humanitarianism all round. A smaller world with closer friends.

What if their shoes were on our feet, what would we hope for and expect?

It would be realistic I say, for us to also expect them to return home, once the World has put a stop to the problems that forced them to flee.

It seems like a plan Kemedian but unfortunately they begin new lives and maybe have children born in their new country and this of course means those children are citizens , and only know in this instance Scotland , and probably being educated there . Those families do not deserve to be deported as long as they are not criminals . and working for a living .

I would expect those refugees to become responsible citizens and be able to apply and get British Citizenship after a couple of years , that to me is democracy . also I would apply the same to Canada .

Hail the socialist millennia. What happened to the post about food banks and starvation in Glasgow.

Oh the brave music of a distant drum. Be ashamed be very ashamed. How arrogant can any person be who welcomes the poor and destitute into his country of high unemployment, low wages and dietary (or lack of it) related health problems.

"Freddy feel good" starts at home and when you can send your conscience on an overseas holiday like all good "compassionistas" then it generally means that you are secure in your employment, life style and wellbeing that enables you to berate those who would see an influx of welfare recipients (where are the jobs for them?) threaten their tenuous existence. There are 4 million refugees alone with intention to cross into Europe for their opportunity to settle where they are not wanted or required by the population of the countries of their choice. These populations being at the mercy of the dictatorial unrepresentative bureaucrats of Brussels, who from their snug ivory towers, where refugees will never show their faces, will dictate to the poor of U.K. and Europe, just how much of an alien imposition they will be expected to bear.

The neo Nazis have long prepared for this day when they can and will have a sizeable minority ready to take to the streets in violence that will not only be directed at migrants, but at all other minorities.

Please think before your rhetoric gets the better of your judgement.
