Can't go prawns at all but the Mackerel sounds good.

As a gastronome, I wonder if you have any suggestions on what dish one of our TV celebrity chefs was going to cook. I encountered his going through Glasgow Airport with the largest pack (about 2ft long) of Jaffa cakes? Perhaps they were just for the crew to have with their tea smile.gif

I have a pot of Minestrone soup on the go .

for supper tonight it will be ,Penne pasta with
onion ,garllic , mushrooms done in butter , italian sausage ,
parmesan cheese . " No Tomato sauce "

Interesting trip to butchers in Camberwell this afternoon where they had boiling fowl for sale - 3 for a Fiver.
Haven't seen birds trussed up and on open display like that in decades - see pic of Stow st in the 1950s. It's a common sight down here though according to my son.

It's been awhile since anyone has had dinner
on this site .

Our dinner tonight " my grandson and I " was some boiled potatoes
and I also roasted a few , also corn on the cob
with broccoli and pan fried beef steak ,it was delicious
hav'nt had that in a while, fruit and cream for dessert . smile.gif

A simple Waldorf Salad for us tonight. Still too hot to enjoy cooking. Paraguayos for afters. I won't mention the wine (oops!).

Bilbo.s we have had a rather cool summer this year
but that suits me just fine in the Kitchen smile.gif

Wombat I have never tasted Chorizo but might try it
one of these days if I ever see it in the meat department smile.gif

I made up some salmon fish cakes this morning
so that will be supper tonight with steamed veg. smile.gif

Monkfish (minus the heid!) baked with tomatoes, red peppers,garlic and mixed herbs - oh, and white wine. Spicy wedges. Fresh nectarines to follow.

Tonights supper will be fish cakes that I made
with previously cooked wild Haddock, with
salad and italian style bread .
Dessert will be Tea with a couple of apple tartlets .

Tomorrow going out for supper , probably chinese
food , and Saturday will be Kippers , I do enjoy fish smile.gif
