You've certainly been in the wars Tomi. Dont you realise it finished in 1945?
I think maybe your trying for the Guinness Book of Records for most hospitilazions in a lifetime.
When I went in this year it was the first time I had been in since 59/60.
Not sure of the year, I do know I was in the Royal watching the funeral procession of the firemen killed in the Cheapside blaze.
I have never seen so many hearses before or since.
Tragic.

I'm sure it was when I was 64 that I calculated that I'd had one operation; large or snall, for every two years of my existance: I never worked it out again but the average has probably remained stable rolleyes.gif

In a local suprtmarket 2 days ago a lady cane over to me as I was being checked out. " You're the guy with Dylan, aren't you?"
"Yes, that's me"
" He went for me a few weeks ago"
" Oh ... what had you done?"
"I went to stroke Damon and Dylan stepped between us and growled at me. "
She thought it was unusual that the smaller dog (20 kilos) would want to protect the larger (32 kilos) but Damon is Dylan's absolute best friend and a very quiet natured big lad.

Danon , the Husky, seen here on a house call on Dylan the Villain.

The lady in question saw that the checkout girl was `beepin' cigarettes through and said, "They'll bury you for sure".
"That'll probably be true: everything else has failed up 'till now" rolleyes.gif

Just for the record, I did not choose Dylan's name: anything but that, but he was so called in his rescue centre in Rumania after a cartoon character ex-police dog turned PI Detective Dylan biggrin.gif

Tomi, I'm currently on a campsite somewhere up the west coast and there's a couple from Germany in a caravan just behind us. I have no idea what the breed is but their dog is one of the biggest I've ever seen. It looks (and walks) like a grizzly bear on four legs. The look is even more confusing because it's extremely gentle and behaves like a young pup. Just glad I don't have to feed it tongue.gif

Hi Ash, are you sure it's no' a bear?
What's the first letter(s) on the German car? (this tells us where they're from) Mine are LO from Loerrach county.
I get dylan's food over the inteernet and it comes in cartons (3 off) each weighing over 20 kilos; which is Dylans weight.
The Dry food I get is an American variety dog food called Wild Elements and containd turkey and ... wait til you herre this ... Angus and Hereford Beef raised on a 300 square mile ranch in Nebraska, purely for dog food.
2% of body weieght being the daily ration means Dylan should get 400 grams per day but he gets that in `wet' food alone over three meals including a boiled egg, a spud and half a bannana tongue.gif
When he's out with Damon they run together like crazy, practice fighting; they were both attacked within three days of each other by the same Ridgeback so that wont happen again because they've now formed a two-dog pack with Dylan taking Alpha position to defend his big mate. rolleyes.gif
Dylan was a street stray saved fron euthanasea at one year old in Rumania. we noticed that lots of dogs in the area where he came from looked very similar to him so we did a bit of research and came up with a Rumanian/Carpatan Herder.
But Dylan is a mix and fails 20 cm to the shoulder to be a true Carpatan Herder which stands at 70cm shoulder height ... we''ve seen one locally and apart from the height they're identical ... so Dylan's ma short-arsed Shuggie fae Carpartan biggrin.gif
You can tell he knows he's no longer in Rumania now ... he'll only eat bread if it's got butter on it now laugh.gif

Tomi, I can't check the German car because we've had rather a lot of rain over the last few days so we were forced to "abandon ship" rolleyes.gif

I did a wee internet search and found the type of dug in question, it was a Leonberger (sorry, having trouble posting photies). According to the description they get to between 50 and 75 kilos when fully grown ohmy.gif

My South African grandson who is in Glasgow at the moment is about to experience a culture shock up close and personal.
So far in his life he has only heard his grumpy old granda complaining about Rangers and their supporters with the occasional story told to him.
Today he is off to Ibrox with his two Rangers supporting cousins. I only hope he survives the ordeal.

Hi Dave, I have one story about Rangers supporters who, probably, saved me from a fate worse than death ... but that really is the proverbial `other story' which your grandson might find dificult to believe; as I sometimes do myself unsure.gif
Watch this space biggrin.gif

Hi Ash, the Leonberger is a big doggie right enuff rolleyes.gif
Using the ratiio of weight to portion of food he'd need 1.5 Kg daily.
Your link was good with many good images but one in particular was of great interest to me ...

There is a part of the Kandertal (Kander Valley) in the Black Forest called Wolves Canyon where I always walked with Bonnie. You couldn't be blamed for thinking you were being observed while there.

Bonnie had the feeling another dog was in the area but I thought a bear might be in the are(a)
so we had a look ...
