Hi
Anyone out there remember a street named Tillie Street in Maryhill? My Mum and Gran lived there at one time but I can't seem to find it on any of the maps. Am I spelling it correctly???

Hi Aileen biggrin.gif

A quick look at google maps shows Tillie Street between Garriochmill Road and South Woodside Road...would that be the one? You can use the link below and type in Tillie Street, Glasgow for more details..biggrin.gif

Thanks so much for this, found it on the link you sent, looks like there is not a street name on it though.

You should be able to get the street name if you zoom in closer using the 'ladder' on the left of the map..biggrin.gif

My older brother and his family lived at no. 12 Tillie St. from approx. 1941 till 1953. Does anyone know if the building still exists? Some of his children who were born there live close to me now in America.

Hi Jock
Had a look at the Royal Mail postcode finder for you. No. 12 is not there!
There are just odd numbers from 5 - 21 so it looks like number 12 has been pulled down. I'm not sure what number my Gran and Mum lived at, they lived there between the 1930's and early 40's.

The street was named after William Tillie, who was a partner in a well known firm of solicitors.
