Norrie, Did you spot the signs for WC, all leading nowhere? Has anyone ever found one?

Once again great pics Norrie.Ive always fancied a trip there ever since seeing the paintings of Canalletto as a kid.Its history as a powerhouse of Europe is just incredible. The Glassblower of Murano by Marina Fiorato is a book I would highly recommend. It is just what I imagine Venice was like. rolleyes.gif

Our next port of call was Sibinek, Croatia
At first sight there didn't seen that much to it but on exploring, we found the older part of town with its narrow lanes, bars, restaurants and shops, we liked it

Plenty of bars along the sea front

Looking to Sibenik
We thought we would visist the castle, the one where the tower crane is, alas its under repair and was closed

Sibenik has a small shingle beach, we had no swim suits with us, so we gave it a miss

A better shot of the town

Norrie, good photo's, especially the one's of Venice a favourite place of mine.

A few years ago we spent a week in Venice and bought a weekly ticket for the Water Bus and sailed up and down the Grand Canal stopping off at all the wee Islands.

In the evening we went to St. Marks Square where three orchestras took a turn at playing, and some people would get up to dance.
There were table's and chairs around the Square, but If you sat at a table you had to buy a drink which was expensive, so you made it last a long time.

Hi Heather, yes you only do it once, then you do what the Itlians do, watch and dont pay

Our next port of call was Dubrovnik, I was told we would not be dissapointed when we visited it
What a place, we were well impressed, narrow steep streets, in place's and flat in other parts, surrounded by a wall that you can walk on, we said we would do that some other time and explore the old city

The harbour area where we docked

Our first glimpse of the old town, we walked from the ship, no bother, 50 minutes, ship said about 90 minutes

Some of the old town is flat
