Funny thing about Shakespeare, Mary No matter who I talk to about it they always remember the days there with such good thoughts, I know we were only wee weans at the time but it was the only time I recall ever thinking good about a school. smile.gif

I know what you mean Lennox, it was a lovely school,I can still see the classrooms and at Christmas they put a huge tree in the Assembly Hall and we would all sit on the floor and sing carols what a magical time!

I keep meaning to go in to the School and see if I can take some pics, don't know if I'll be able to do that, wish I'd gone when it was still a school, for special needs kids, it's now a social work dept. but so glad they haven't pulled it down the way they did NK. My dad and his brothers and sisters all went to Shakespeare then on to NK it's just like a family tradition, only I went to Woodside Sec. eugh! another school I wasn't keen on and because my birthday fell in September I had to do an extra year, so unfair.

I kind of put the 'other' two schools to the back of my mind like they did not exist, the only good thing about Woodside was my English teacher, he was always very encouraging and I always did well at English and he wanted me to consider a career in English Teaching but I really just wanted outa there! often wonder now if I did the right thing? My nephew is an English Teacher, funny how things turn out!

The promoter 'P. Fay' might be one of my pal Tommy's parents - Fay not being a very common name. Don't recognise any of the others.
