hi i recently been sent these pics from an aunt i didnt know about until 2 weeks ago the first one is of my dad in uniform can anybody identfy the regiment for me please

Hi Tina,it looks like the typical British Army tunic of a Private(no stripes) it's hard to tell the badge,it could be Royal ordinance corp--their badge had an explosion emblem.--Good Luck

I think the REME also wore berets like that.

Tina. Can you post a larger picture so I can see the cap-badge better. The uniform is a basic Private from late 40s to c.1962 - I was in at that time. The badge could also be Royal Signals. The beret is typical of that era. It looks very big so I imagine your Dad was a trainee as all berets were large on issue and all squaddies spent weeks shrinking them into a correct shape!.

all army people wore berets at one time but if in the rhf it was glen garry's oh and kilts or tartan trousers oh so sexy a love the pic of my da in his kilt way the bag pipes

This is my young brother Ronald being inspected by the Queen when he was doing his National Service in 1956, he was 19 years old then. He was 6ft.4ins tall. He was in the Cameronians, You'll see the Queen looking directly at him.Ronald is second on the right.
