I remember the White Elephant well as I worked there as a steward. Great fun and terrific atmosphere. The manager was a guy called john Quigley, great to work for. We showed cartoons on the wall above where the dj worked and I often worked the projector and all the lighting stuff. The club was the top storey of the building and the Lucky Star restaurant was below us. I used to meet up with some other staff for a quick pint in Lauders bar next door or sometimes the Muscular arms nearby which was very trendy pub. A great club and great fun
Nightporter,
I worked in the White Elephant as a steward too. I remember John Quigley, and also a manager named Jim Ireland, and I too drank in LAUDERS and The MUSCULAR ARMS before starting work in the disco.
