All Glaswegians must vote in local council elections on May 4th this year. I urge all of you to purge the council of the execrable individuals who are running this city into the ground. Remove them from their comfortable entrenched seat of power. Let's have someone in charge who is more concerned with proper governance of this city than they are with the size of their pay packet.

I strongly echo Steph's comment as council has been acting as if they were appointed rather than elected!.

Steph, I don't live in Glasgow now, but unfortunately the problem is not confined to Glasgow. I wish I could find someone in charge who is more concerned with proper governance than the size of their pay packet, and/or their own personal political ambitions. Please let me know when and if you find one!

In fairness, I have met a few individuals who were genuinely concerned about local issues. Most of them were Councillors in the days before they were paid for that service to the local community.

Vote for the person, not the party. Here it's a Labour/SNP coalition and I can assure there are past and present members of both who are mired in scandal. The expenses one seems to one where the public pays more than it should, while some of them dont get paid (though get allowances) others are on salaries as well as travel expenses, who here gets travel expenses to go to work ???
