Hi,The Patons lived on the top flat of no. 100. A soldier called Patrick Wheelan visited them once, he had a strong English accent. Also on the same landing, were the Blues & Mrs. Weir. Below the Patons, at the front of the building, were the Kays. Sorry I can't tell you anything more about the Patons. Anne.

Hi all great pics and memories of High Craighall Road

I can see that the post was some time ago , but hoping someone still checks in. Does anyone remember The Donnelly's ?

My Gt grandfather Was William Donnelly married to my Gt Grandmother Isabella Weir ( Mrs Helen weir daughter) he died in an accident in Perth 1938. He was out on a day trip with some other men and missed the bus home . They started walking home with the hope they would get a lift back to glasgow, he was hit by a lorry.

Williams family were from Crawford St Port Dundas and Isabella Weir lived at 98 & half High Craighall Road according to their marriage 1921.

They were both still staying at 98 High Craighall road when William Donnelly died.

Mrs Helen Weir my Gt Gt Grandmother was born 116 High Craighall Road. At the time of her husband William Weir death in 1912 she was living at 98 High Craighall Road . According to the poorlaw record this was her home and shop, her occupation states "confectionary shopkeeper". Also according to the poorlaw record it states " she has a little shop fairly well stocked with biscuits, sweets, lemonade, loaf ect".

I'm not sure when she would have given the shop up or if she stayed in High Craighall Road for some years after her husbands death . I will just have to wait for the 1921 census to find this out

In the 1891 census Helen and William Weir lived at 100 High Craighall Road
In 1901 they lived in 110 High Craighall Road
