What about Onslow Drive Junior Secondary? (My mother's school) In 1939 it was amalgamated with Whitehill Senior Secondary. Both now demolished and replaced by Whitehill Polytechnic School. I think it is close to where Onslow Drive school was.

Haghill School? Between Aitken Street and Appin Road. Jack House was a pupil there.

Dennistoun Public School? Now, I think, St Denis Primary.

I recently returned to Glasgow for a visit. I was shocked to discover that my 'old' school Penilee Secondary, was gone and replaced by new housing.

Didn't notice before, but Laurel Bank, Park School and Westbourne School for Girls are all missing.
My sister went to Laurel Bank (as did a couple of girlfriends), Park School's playing fields were opposite my Gran's and, as a schoolboy, the vivid purple of the Westbourne girls always drew my eye. Sadly I never managed to draw their attention in quite the same way... c'est la vie LOL
Park and Laurel joined together a few years back to form the Laurel Park School and, as I have just found out, this in turn merged with Hutcheson's Grammer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutchesons'_Grammar_School).
Westbourne on the other hand became part of Glasgow Academy.

St Roberts, Priesthill.
St Ignatius, Househillwood Rd.
Anyone else go to St Ignatius between 72-78. Primary 6&7 was in Miss Gallaghers class, she became a Mrs Cowie i think :-)

I'm close to finalising the sign-up for the new Glasgow 'social networking' site, where visitors will able to register to join the networking community and get their own personal web page, over which they will have full control. As part of the sign-up process I'd like to present visitors with a drop-down menu of secondary schools where they can select their own.

The list below shows the current full list of secondary schools that I have, but I would like you to look over the list and see if you can spot any that are missing - especially ones which have now closed. If you see any that are missing can you please reply to this post and list it, so that I can include it in the sign-up form?

Thanks. biggrin.gif
