Hi I'm new to this site but I am hoping someone can help me with some research concerning the Salvation run home for unwed mothers. It was situated in Great Western Road and was still in use until the '60's I believe. (I think most of the mothers gave birth in Rottenrow).
Anyone willing to give me any information or share their experiences of the home? Any info recieved would be kept in the strictest confidence. What I would like is to have a picture of what the regime was like and of the treatment of the young women who used the facility.

Hello Bel, I was born at the Rottenrow Hosp. on July 1959 My Mum lived at the home for unmarried mothers back then and she worked at Oakbank Hosp as a Nurse Trainee. I think my Mum lived in a place called The Good Shepherd but it seems I hit a brick wall no matter who I write to for information.
